Dear Friends~

I have so much to tell you so I am going to dive right in. First of all, I want to give you an update on our homeless couple. They had their baby and he is precious! In fact, as I type this letter he is here sleeping while his parents are at a doctor’s appointment. We have secured an apartment that is under renovation. The dad has a job and starts on Monday. We have partnered with View Church to minister to this couple and Pastor Tyler had the privilege of leading the mom to Christ last week! They have been in church on both Sunday and Wednesday, which thrills us! A couple from the View Church has taken them to dinner to encourage them. We have been amazed how God has used His people to provide for this couple! I could fill this page up with God moments that have happened over the last month. It has not been easy for them or us, but ministry is not always easy and can even be messy, but the rewards are so worth it! I would ask you to pray about their car situation. They need something else that is more affordable.  If any of you are interested in helping with this or have any ideas, please call Eric at CPC.

I would ask you to also pray for the US Supreme Court. On December 1st, they will hear arguments on the Mississippi Law that would restrict abortion after 15 weeks. The state of Mississippi passed the Gestational Age Act in 2018 and has been blocked by two federal courts. This law only allows abortion after 15 weeks “only in medical emergencies or severe fetal abnormality.” This court decision would tee up for the overturning of Roe vs Wade.  Please begin to pray for the Justices. They are already being targeted by many pro-abortion groups and cases have been filed that would uphold Roe. The Justices deliberated for months whether to take up the Mississippi dispute.  Their decision to take the case has sent shock waves through groups supporting abortion rights. Now, is our opportunity to make our voice heard. Let’s begin this fight for life by praying for our Supreme Court and those who will argue the case for LIFE!

One way that we can make our voice heard is by participating in Life Chain on Sunday, October 3rd.  We will peacefully and prayerfully assemble in front of Westside Baptist Church, on John B. White Boulevard, (across from Zaxby’s) for one hour, 2:00-3:00 pm. Your presence is powerful and makes a difference. With the challenges we currently are experiencing from groups supporting abortion, those of us who believe that life begins at conception and that it MUST be protected, WE CANNOT REMAIN SILENT. Please bring your church bus or van FULL of people and let’s line both sides of the street! If you can’t stand, do like me and bring a chair.

Please join us in thanking the Lord for some recent financial gifts that we believe will enable us to break ground soon. We don’t have all the money but we can get started moving dirt. Our God is always faithful and His timing is always right!

September 30th was the end of an era so to speak. Our dear Debra Ortt is changing her title from Director of Earn While You Learn to “MeMaw”. While we are so happy for her as she begins this new adventure of retirement and grandparenting, we are sad for us. The impact she has had on CPC and specifically our clients has been extraordinary. Heaven will no doubt display the works of her hands and heart! We are so grateful that the Lord moved Debra and Greg to South Carolina and into our hearts! We love you, dear friend, and will greatly miss you being here every day!

Rejoicing in His constant provisions~
