Dear Friends~

“I knew if I came here, y’all would help us.”

I have heard that statement three times in the last month. Once from a new dad who wanted help for his wife who was having trouble breast feeding, a mom whose son was having issues with his father and another who needed guidance in comforting her daughter who had miscarried. All had different needs and all turned to CPC.

As we gather to pray with each shift, we never know what the day may hold. What will we hear on the other end of the phone? What situation will we encounter in the counseling room? Most days are different but all are filled with needs and even, at times, a crisis.  Even though some days are hard, we are GRATEFUL that the Lord has entrusted the clients to us. Our job is to show them His love, His kindness and point them to the Cross for forgiveness and restoration. It’s who we are. It’s what we do. Even though the scope of our ministry has grown over the years, our mission is the same…to tell people about Jesus and meet them right where they are. Thank you for enabling us to be a light in a dark culture. It is our prayer that each person that leaves CPC will leave with more hope than when they came.

Things don’t slow down because it is summer…we are as busy as ever!  We are thankful for our summer interns who help us catch up on things that we have put to the side, knowing that they were coming! When you read this our VBS will be over. It was such a privilege to partner with Chip Walters and Sidewalk Hope to not only provide VBS for our Earn While You Learn families, but also those in the community around us.  Summit Church generously shared their facilities and Westminster Presbyterian provided the funds for this exciting time! We even had the Snowie Bus from Averie’s Ice Cream Shoppe to deliver snow cones! While it was so very fun, these children and their parents heard the Gospel! For some, it was a life changing week…staff, volunteers and interns included!

We have been notified that our Mobile Unit, complete with an ultrasound, will be here in October and we just can’t wait! We are making plans to take it on a church tour before it officially hits the road. We want it to be covered in prayer because it is something totally new for us!  If your church is interested, please contact us, and we will put you on the list! We are confident that the Lord has BIG plans for us in this new area of ministry. Thank you again to the students, faculty, staff and alumni of Bob Jones University for this TREMENDOUS gift!

We are SO CLOSE to being able to break ground on our new building. Would you pray about giving a special gift to this project? We are trusting the Lord to give us what we need, when we need it and we are thankful for what has been given thus far, but I would love it if in the next Friends for Life letter I invited you to a GROUND BREAKING PARTY! I can’t wait to see what He does and how He does it!

Mark your calendar for our Tee it Up for Life Golf Tournament! The date is Saturday, October 2nd and it will be held at Village Greens Golf Club. If you would like to play, be a sponsor or provide a prize, Madison is your contact person. You may reach her at the office or by email, madison@carolinapregnancy.org  She would love to hear from you!   It’s not too early to sign up!

With an expectant heart~
